白茶唐代起源：陆羽茶经中的记载

White tea history traces to the Tang Dynasty. Lu Yu's 'Tea Classic' quotes the 'Yongjia Gazetteer': '300 li east of Yongjia County lies White Tea Mountain.' Scholars identify this as the Taimu Mountain area of today's Fuding—evidence that white tea existed there at least 1,200 years ago. However, Tang 'white tea' differs from modern craft—Tang practice was sun-drying or steaming then drying fresh leaves, sharing lineage with modern withering + drying. True modern white tea craft crystallized from Ming to Qing Dynasty, gradually formalizing in the Taimu Mountain area as today's unique method: no roasting, no rolling, only withering and drying.
