White Tea Harvest Seasons and Grades
福鼎白茶采摘分春秋两季：春茶（3-5月）为上品——头春银针采于清明前后（约3月中下旬至4月上旬），芽头最肥壮、白毫最密、价最高；明前银针、雨前牡丹是春茶金字塔尖。秋茶（9-10月，白露/秋分前后）滋味更浓、香气高锐、性价比高，称'秋白露'。夏茶品质较低一般不采制高档白茶。白毫银针一年仅春季采芽，产量稀缺。
Fuding White Tea is plucked in spring and autumn: spring tea (March-May) is finest—first-flush Silver Needle around Qingming (mid-March to early April) has the plumpest, downiest buds and commands top prices. Autumn tea (around White Dew, Sept-Oct) offers bolder taste and strong aroma at better value ('autumn white dew'). Summer tea is low grade and rarely made into premium white tea. Silver Needle buds are plucked only in spring, making them scarce.
