Fuding Dahao Cultivar (Huacha No.2): King of Silver Needle
福鼎大毫茶，编号华茶2号(GSCT2)，是白毫银针的优选原料品种。特征：灌木型、大叶类、中生种。芽叶黄绿带紫，茸毛浓密特长，单芽肥壮重实。大毫茶芽头的毫毛密度和长度均优于大白茶，制成的银针外形更加'白如银、直如针'。大毫茶产量高于大白茶，是福鼎白茶产区种植面积最大的品种。其茶多酚含量略高于大白茶，滋味更醇厚。
Fuding Dahao (Huacha No.2, GSCT2) is the premier cultivar for Silver Needle. It is a shrub-type, large-leaf, mid-sprouting variety. Buds are yellow-green with purple tinge, extremely dense and long down, and plump, heavy single buds. Dahao buds have denser, longer down than Dabai, producing needles that are 'white as silver, straight as needles.' Higher yielding than Dabai, it is the most widely planted cultivar in Fuding. Slightly higher polyphenols give a fuller taste.
