Carbon neutrality is inevitable for the global tea industry. White tea carbon-neutral garden practices: (1) Carbon sequestration—tea trees sequester ~1-2 tons CO2/hectare/year; with surrounding forest can reach 3-5 tons; (2) Emission reduction—electric picking equipment replacing diesel, solar-powered withering rooms, organic cultivation reducing fertilizer emissions; (3) Carbon trading—garden carbon credits can be sold on carbon markets, creating additional income for farmers. Some Fuding gardens have begun carbon footprint accounting. International buyers (especially EU) increasingly require carbon footprint reports from suppliers. Sustainability certifications: Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, Fair Trade. Carbon-neutral labeling will become important competitive advantage for white tea exports.
